Honorary President Wang Jinnan Attended the 2024 Annual Summit of the Energy and Environmental Service Industry——Vigorously Develop Green New Quality Productive Forces and Comprehensively Advance the Construction of a Beautiful China

 

On March 28, 2024, the "2024 Annual Summit of the Energy and Environmental Service Industry," hosted by the Energy and Environmental Service Industry Alliance (EESIA), was successfully held in Beijing. Academician Wang Jinnan, a standing committee member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), deputy director of the Population, Resources, and Environmental Committee, honorary president of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning , and president of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, was invited to attend the opening ceremony and deliver a keynote report titled "Vigorously Develop Green New Quality Productive Forces and Comprehensively Advance the Construction of a Beautiful China."

 

In his report, Academician Wang systematically reviewed the series of strategic deployments and requirements made by the Party and the state for the construction of a beautiful China since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. He pointed out that promoting green and low-carbon development is a key measure in building a beautiful China, and comprehensively advancing the construction of a beautiful China requires the vigorous development of green new quality productive forces, which are inherently green productive forces. By comparing and analyzing the fundamental differences between green new quality productive forces and traditional productive forces in terms of the concept of productive forces, production functions, elements of productive forces, sources of power, industrial structure, development models, and development goals, he detailed how green and low-carbon is the essence of new quality productive forces. Finally, based on his in-depth research on ecological civilization and the construction of a beautiful China over the years, he proposed five suggestions for vigorously developing green new quality productive forces and comprehensively advancing the construction of a beautiful China: First, he suggested improving the green technology innovation system to provide a "charging station" for the development of green new quality productive forces; second, he proposed building a green and low-carbon circular economy system to release an "accelerator" for the development of green new quality productive forces; third, he advocated cultivating the fourth industry of ecological products to inject "new kinetic energy" into the development of green new quality productive forces; fourth, he called for the continuous optimization of the economic policy toolkit to provide a "catalyst" for the development of new quality productive forces; and fifth, he promoted a green and healthy lifestyle to provide a "weathervane" for the development of green new quality productive forces.

 

The summit, themed "Innovation Leadership: Creating Green and Low-Carbon New Quality Productive Forces," was attended by more than a thousand guests from enterprises engaged in green and low-carbon services nationwide, as well as government departments, research institutes, industry associations, financial institutions, and relevant international organizations.
