On the occasion of the relocation of CAEP, Tu Ruihe, representative of the United Nations Environment Programme in China, Wang Qian, Project Director from UNEP and his entourage, visited our Academy. Secretary Lu Jun and President Wang Jinnan,warmly received Tu Ruihe and his colleagues. Chief Scientist Ge Chazhong, Director Zhang Lirong and other relevant personnel attended the event.

 

The two sides exchanged views on their respective work priorities and plans, and had in-depth and friendly talks on how to exert the platform advantages of the United Nations Environment Programme in China and the role of CAEP's scientific research advantages as an international think tank in global environmental governance.

 

Both sides expressed that they will take this as a new starting point, continue to give full play to their respective advantages, continue to strengthen communication and cooperation, jointly carry out in-depth cooperation on major global issues such as environmental governance, climate change, biodiversity conservation, and green development, and work together to achieve the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and contribute "Chinese experience" to the cause of global sustainable development.
