The Kick-off Meeting of Strategy and Capacity Building of China's Synergetic Protection on Environment and Climate was successfully held in Beijing

On 21st Oct,2020,Organized by Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning(CAEP), and sponsored by the Energy Foundation, The Kick-off Meeting of Strategy and Capacity Building of China's Synergetic Protection on Environment and Climate was successfully held in Beijing.

This Project is the key cooperation field between CAEP and the Energy Foundation in 2020-2021, which will support the development and implementation of goals and targets, emission reduction measures, governance and policies, in the area of co-management of air quality and climate change in 14th FYP on China’s Ecological and Environmental Protection. Each project team separately reported the main research content, assessment indicators, technical routes, research methods and expected results of the seven project below in detail, namely Study on the Strategies for Air Pollution Prevention and Control in Efforts to Co-Address GHGs Control during the 14th Five-year Plan Period (Phase II Project),Study on the Strategies for Air Pollution Prevention and Control in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region and its Surrounding Areas during the 14th FYP Period ,Study on national strategy of disaggregated coal pollution control in the 14th five-year plan period,Establish a Cost-Benefit Analysis Mechanism for Environmental Policies in China (Phase III),Research on Innovative Mechanisms and Policies for Environmental Protection in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period,Policy Research on Structural Adjustment and Low-carbon Development of the Yellow River Basin during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period,Turn Crisis into an Opportunity to Accelerate Green and Low-Carbon Transformation in the “14th Five-Year Plan” Post-Epidemic Period.

Experts and relevant representatives at the meeting agreed that the project is of great significance, and put forward specific opinions and suggestions on the implementation of the project from different angles.

In the next step, based on the discussion results of the meeting, our Academy will fully absorb the suggestions put forward by the expert representatives, refine and improve the work plan of each content, and strive to promote the smooth development of the project.
