IEII is responsible for conducting research on the investment and finance in ecological environment, the ecological environmental protection authority, and the public finance policies; providing technical consultation, technical review, performance evaluation, and technical support for project construction of the special funds from the central government; conducting research on the development of ecological environmental protection industry and ecological environment service industry; carrying out research and technical consultation on ecological environment PPP, and ecological environment governance model; conducting research on the equalization of ecological environment basic public services; conducting research on and providing technical support for ecological environment supervision capacity building planning; providing technical support for the management of major national ecological environmental protection projects, capacity building projects and basic construction projects; and conducting research on the prevention and treatment of solid waste and chemical pollutants, and zero-waste cities and zero-waste society.
