It is responsible for the risk assessment and management system, policies and planning for national and regional ecological environment; the emergency management for and technical research on ecological environment; the technical support for emergency treatment and impact assessment of major ecological environmental events; the technical support for the system design, policy research and capacity building of ecological environmental damage compensation; the technical support for ecological environment damage identification and assessment and compensation standards; the research on basic theoretical methods and experiments for ecological environment damage identification and assessment, and ecological restoration; the ecological environmental economic accounting research; the research on environment and health management policies and technologies; the research on duties for ecological environment; the technical support for the management of ecological environment risk and damage assessment agency over the country; the daily work of the Secretariat of the Expert Committee on Environmental Damage Identification and Evaluation, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment; the work of the Secretariat of the Environment Audit and Environmental Economic Accounting Professional Committee, Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences.
